I am sure that you have all been around young children before. Whether you have younger siblings, young cousins, babysat, or been in stores, you have seen mothers with children.
As you have watched or played with these children, you may have noticed something about them. They all at some point say “no” to their parents, throw temper tantrums, run away when they have been told to stand right there or bite and push someone that has made them angry.
They need to be shown what is right. They don’t obey naturally or easily many times. Their will would rather do what they want.
This is because we have been born into sin. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (NASB)
This means that we have to be shown what is right. Our will wants to do what we want to do, not what God says is right. We don’t obey naturally or easily.
Thankfully we have a Heavenly Father who did not leave us in our sin. In fact, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NASB). God wanted to have a relationship with us, to talk to us, and to show us the right way. We were in sin and sin separates us from God. He sent his only Son, Jesus to die for us so we would not be separated from Him anymore.
That is such love!
It does not end there! Jesus was buried and three days later rose from the grave. He went to be with the Father in Heaven, preparing a place for those who love Him.
That is the good news, we don’t have to stay in our sins. We can be shown the way to go, which is right. “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 10:9,10 (NASB)
If we go to God with a heart filled with sorrow and sadness over the way we have said no to Him, ran away from Him, and gone our own way, believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord, that he died on the cross, was buried, rose up from the grave, is in Heaven preparing a place for us, and coming back again someday, we will be saved!
As we talk about who we are in Christ, this has to be our first step. If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Savior and would like to know more or understand these things better, please feel free to contact me or talk to someone who knows the Lord!
Heavenly Father, I thank you for each girl here who has read this post today. I pray that each one would leave with a desire to know you better. If someone here is reading this and has accepted You for the first time, we rejoice with them! Continue to grow us in You and give us a better understanding of who we are in You! In Jesus Name! Amen!
